Bikinis and accessories
You can never have too many bikinis and beach outfits, right? Definitely, now that Covid is almost over, people are getting vaccinated, and that we are finally allowed to travel again. I for one bought my fair share of bikinis, bathing suits, hats, slippers, sunglasses, and so on. I’m not gonna discuss all of them, but I have to say that I adore the items shown in the picture above. The dark orange bikini with leopard print is an item I would have never bought in the past, but when I saw these leopard Freedom Moses sandals all over Instagram, I just fell in love and thought the bikini would go great with it. The bikini itself is pretty inexpensive since it’s from H&M. I also found these cute cat-eyed sunglasses on their website. Normally I always buy ‘the real thing’ at my local optician, but I couldn’t let these slide. If you want to buy the ‘brand’ version, which has much better UV protection, you can buy the ‘narrow cat-eye sunglasses‘ from Saint Lauren.
Skincare and makeup
When it comes down to a hot summer I like to stick to some basic makeup items. I don’t like putting a full face of makeup when I know it’ll melt off anyway. One of my favorite foundation replacements is the Clinique ID moisturizer with vitamin C. The moisturizer with vitamin booster is great for all skin types, helps energize the skin, and gives a natural glow. Because you’re not putting on layers of makeup your skin will also be able to breathe properly and enjoy the vitamin D from the sun. After that, I always apply some sunscreen. I always use the Clinique SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen Face Fluid. I love how non-sticky this one is. For makeup, I again like to keep it simple. I love the ‘better than sex waterproof mascara’ by Too Faced and the Clinique chubby moisturizing lipstick, again a moisturizer cause we need that during summer. I also highly recommend the Dr rescue lip balm from baby lips by Maybelline New York. It has helped me out with chapped and burned lips so many summers before.
Hair & others
All that sun and salty ocean water can cause damage to your hair, so maintaining it is very important. I love the Garnier Fructis hair shampoo, conditioner, and mask with papaya. It’s great for damaged hair and has a repairing treatment. I do not recommend using this if you get greasy hair easily. I always let my hair air dry, it’s pretty healthy and I have no split ends, but during the summer I tend to use the Elvive Extraordinary Oil Treatment a lot. I always put it on my hair after I go swimming or after washing it. Cause you know, prevention is better than cure. The last item I want to talk about is the COCO Mademoiselle perfume from Channel. There are multiple intensities of this exact scent, but I personally prefer the ‘intense’ bottle. The smell itself is amazing, sensual, and stays on an entire day. I highly recommend it.
